LEARNING FROM THE YOUNG GENERATION: REVERSE MENTORING RETREAT IN THE CHIEMGAU

Learning from and with each other, discovering new perspectives, experiencing other worlds.
Those who mostly move within their own "bubble" set limits for themselves. Our diversely composed reverse mentoring tandems ensure inspiring perspective shifts.

IN-PERSON WORKSHOP at a beautiful location in the Chiemgau with Susanne Westphal and Katja Schleicher

REGISTRATION Venue: Chiemgau, Hotel Karner, Nussbaums. 6, 83112 Frasdorf Trainer: Susanne WestphalKatja Schleicher Fee: 890 EUR plus VAT.

Goal

Everywhere we talk about “skilled labor shortage” and the necessity to recruit applicants — especially from the very young generation. To make this possible, we first need to understand the needs and life philosophy of this generation. This retreat is designed for career starters and executives who want to get to know new perspectives and learn from each other: senior managers and young talents, men and women from various industries share their knowledge and experiences and come closer.

Benefit

The promotion of introspection, self-awareness, self-acceptance, self-confidence, self-assurance & self-efficacy are the goals of our 2 ½-day event in the Chiemgau. After this retreat, you will have developed a stable reverse mentoring relationship with your partner. You will have expanded your network with valuable additional contacts and know their expertise and strengths. You will know how to continue benefiting from mentoring relationships in the future. You will have learned from a wide variety of experiences and been shown a new world outside your usual environment. You will feel strengthened and motivated. Our goal is also that you have experienced all this in a relaxed atmosphere with joy and ease and enjoyed having us as your guides on this discovery tour.

Registration

  • Come as a tandem and nominate a colleague, an employee, or a boss.
  • Or register as an individual: in this case, you will be paired with a suitable counterpart.

Method

  • We work with a wide variety of interventions from neuro-communication that help you and others to get on track
  • We work equally on communicative self-perception and external perspective.
  • We work amidst the most beautiful nature and spend a lot of time outdoors.
  • The moderated conversations mostly take place while hiking. You should be fit on your feet, but excessive athleticism is not required. We walk leisurely enough to always have enough breath for thinking and talking.

Schedule

Beforehand, all participants receive a detailed questionnaire that enables us to match tandems and tailor our content to your needs.

  • Thursday, July 13:

  • We meet at 12:00 at Hotel Karner in Frasdorf. Those arriving by public transport are welcome to let us know. We will arrange transfer from Rosenheim train station.
  • Getting to know each other over a healthy lunch snack
  • The afternoon is dedicated to “understanding”: During a hike, we practice in guided two-person conversations
    • Conscious listening
    • Recognizing strengths
    • Picking up on questions or uncertainties
    • Non-judgmental mirroring of what we have understood
    • Different forms of feedback
  • In the evening, we deepen our exchange in the whole group.
    • Reflection of the day
    • You experience firsthand how the dynamics can succeed in connecting small teams into a common group.
    • Campfire session with personal storytelling over a nice glass of wine or tea.
  • Friday, July 14:

  • Start the day for early risers with a (voluntary) morning ritual that awakens body and mind
  • After breakfast, we set out again for a walk with a wide view. In the morning, we focus on “Commonalities that connect”:
    • We look for valuable commonalities with our tandem partner
    • How can forces be combined and strengthened? How do we create an effect of 1+1 = 3?
  • A vitamin-rich lunch snack on the way
  • The afternoon is titled “The unfamiliar”:
    • We consciously look for differences and complements within our tandems. What can we learn from each other?
    • Which prejudices, i.e. “unconscious bias,” shape us? What occasionally prevents us from making connections?
    • Answers and assistance: We reveal our gaps, questions, and weaknesses and give our tandem partners the opportunity to complement us.
    • In the evening, everyone presents the quick learnings of the day and thus gives others the chance to learn and benefit as well.
  • On Saturday, July 15:

  • …we spend our time together after breakfast as follows:
    • What personal goals do we set for the next months?
    • What hurdles and stumbling blocks are on the way to our goals?
    • How can we specifically overcome these hurdles? What helps us move forward?
    • What are our concrete next steps?
  • Around 2:00 pm we say goodbye. We are happy to arrange a ride back to Rosenheim train station.

Special Location

  • You stay overnight in the rustic-cozy Hotel Karner in Frasdorf in a nice single room.
  • We consciously leave our everyday life in the valley, hike up a mountain, and use the elevated perspective for a more strategic and overarching view of the important topics for us.
  • The participation fee includes two overnight stays, our loving support, as well as all meals and drinks.
